Here we are, the first week is
done! If you don't know what Ready. Set. WRITE! is, check it out here.
●How I did on last week’s
goal(s):
Write 2000 words for
the week.
Here is the breakdown
of my words per week.
Monday: 616 words
Tuesday: 323 words
Wednesday: 987 words
Thursday: 117 words
Friday: Off
Saturday: 755 words
Sunday: 99 words
TOTAL: 2897
words
So glad I was able to
keep to my goal! Very interesting that my most words were on Wednesday, which
was my half hour I allotted myself during my lunch break. I am definitely going to aim to have more of these sessions this week.
●My goal(s) for this week:
I'm going to stick
with the 2000 words again. I have a pretty busy week, with my son's birthday on
Friday and Father's day on Sunday, so I'm not sure I will be able to get any
more words than last week.
●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I
wrote/revised:
I'm loving
the angst between my MC and her ex. The physical attraction is there, but they
just can't seem to get it together on an emotional level.
●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting
sick, having writer’s block, etc):
In regards to being
more active in the writer community... I didn't do that great. It seems Twitter
is the main social site for everyone, am I right? Still learning all of the ins
and outs. Plus I think I was using the wrong hashtag...lol. Hope to start
interacting more soon! I am @SuzLMeyer if you want to add me! (Pretty please?)
●Something I love about my WIP:
This is my first draft, but I am loving how the story is
unfolding itself. I still don't know who my MC is going to end up with at the
end....hmmm....
I hope everyone has a productive week!
Nice job on those word counts every day! *fist bump* And don't worry, finding your space in the writing community seems huge/weird at first, and then all the sudden one day you're just there. It's weird how it works, but it does! (It did for me anyway!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Riley. So far I'm just really observing everyone. And thanks for the follow!

DeleteI'm going to second what Riley said! And we are using the hashtag #RSWrite. Elodie's set up a twitter list that I troll on occasion and is a great way to see what others in RSW are up to. Definitely make sure you've been added! And great job on the word count goal! I find that when I have smaller amounts of time, I write more too. I hope you have another wonderful writing week!
ReplyDeleteOK I will make sure I'm added, thanks for that. You also have a great week!

DeleteI followed you! I'm not a huge fan of Twitter, but I feel like it's a necessary evil for writers. But I also think if you don't do it right it's not worth doing at all, and I haven't quite figured out how to do it right. I figure by the time I'm agented I'll have it down. Ha! Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteHa! Good maybe we can share tips! Thanks for the follow! :)

DeleteSounds like 2k is your sweet spot. Keep at it! As for social media...yeah I mostly do the blogs and am still learning twitter myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks, so far so good! What is your handle?
