Zackary-4 months!

Happy four months baby boy!  You've had a great month.  You are such a happy baby, you give smiles to everyone!  And from what I hear, you are quite the flirt!  One of the day care ladies was commenting on how you have smiles just for them, but when she found out you were giving smiles to another lady, she was not happy!  Such a ladies man! ;)

4 month stats:
I am totally guessing here.....we don't go back for check up until Nov 1.
Weight: 14 lbs?  Height: 26"  ??

You Love to:
  • Smile, doesn't matter at who
  • Grab things
  • Roll over!!
  • Suck on your hand, arm, fingers, etc.
  • Drool
  • Coo and babble at mommy
  • Watch Football with Daddy
Watching football, go UCF!

Firsts:

  • You went on your first Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Walk.  You hung out in your stroller for the whole race, slept a little, but mostly liked to look around at everyone wearing pink!  You supported your Aunt Sissy very well!!!
With daddy before the race
My pink Girl!
During the race

Race Bibs

  • You rolled over! From the back to front.  We were all super excited!  You had been half rolling over for a little bit, but now you are a rolling over champ!

I am still amazed at what an awesome, happy baby you continue to be!!! Love you my "Zack Attack!"

Zackary - 2 months

Oh my sweet, sweet baby boy.  I can't believe you are already 2 months old!  That means I only have one more month of maternity leave.  This makes me so sad, but this is not the time to think about that!  I still have a whole month to enjoy your precious coos all to myself, everyday!

2 Month Stats:
  • 11 lbs, 15 oz (49%)
  • 24" long (91%) - everyone definitely comments on how long you are!

You love to:
  • Smile at mommy (especially in the mornings)
  • Coo and make cute sounds
  • Go for walks
  • Swing and swing
  • Be bounced and rocked, constantly.  You need to be constantly on the go, I have a bad feeling about this that as soon as you learn to crawl and walk, you will be all over the place!
Firsts:
  • You had your first time in the pool!  I think you loved it.  You didn't cry and just looked around and enjoyed yourself.  I think you will definitely be a water baby like your sister!

You are such a good baby.  You nurse well and you sleep well.  Right now you are taking about a 2 hour nap in the morning and between 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon.  You go to bed around 8-9pm and sleep anywhere from 3-5am to feed, and then usually go right back to sleep.  Sometimes though, you want to play and coo with mommy for about an hour, and then you go back to sleep.  Kaitlyn still loves and adores you.  She is constantly kissing and hugging you and pushing your swing for you.  Not sure you like being poked and prodded, but that's how it is!  I am always saying to her, "don't touch your brother", and she always replies, "I'm not touching him".  And usually she has her fingers mere millimeters away from you, almost but not touching him.  I can see this same thing happening when your are both older...hee hee.

And time for some pics:

Look at the difference! Definitely fills out the onesie now!

The Journey of my Car

You weren't my first car, but you were my first NEW car!
I have so many memories and even though we may be parting ways, you will always be mine! (so cheesy...)

Wheeling and dealing at the car dealership to get your dream car to the cost that you could afford, thanks to the help of your older brother and a big graphic calculator.
The first whiff on your new car smell.
Learning the intricacies of how much or how little to press the gas and brake.

Driving with the windows down and the stereo blaring for the first time.

Driving with the windows down thinking you were so cool, hey look, I've got a car.
Cleaning it all the time to keep it looking new and shiny.
Testing its limits and storage capacity to many drives back and forth to Gainesville and Orlando.
So happy for parents who helped pay the car payment when I decided to waste spend my money on Chik-fil-A and 2am coffee runs.
The drive from work to Disney, as I got ready for one of the best weekends, my wedding.  I clearly remember how excited I was and so much anticipation!
My first (and hopefully last) car accident.

Paying off the car and not having a car payment.
Hitting that 100,000 mile mark....and then some.

Cautiously driving, holding that steering wheel at 10 and 2, barely going the speed limit, looking in my rearview mirror every 5 seconds to make sure my newborn baby is still sleeping soundly.

The toy-filled car and cheerio-ridden floor as said newborn became a talkative toddler.

You will be missed Honda Civic!
Such great memories, and so excited to make more and start on this new journey with my not-so-new-but-almost-brand-new MINIVAN!
I'm gonna make driving a mini-van SEXY!!! :)

First Vegetable

This weekend was a great one for firsts!  Kaitlyn had her first veggie and went in the pool for the first time.  But this post will be solely about her first vegetable.........
SWEET POTATO!
Sweet potatoes are full of vitamins, and since they are sweet (hence their name), lots of people say this is a good first vegetable to begin with.  Kaitlyn already has been eating rice cereal, and loves it, so we were excited to give her a new taste.

I also wanted to try making her food myself.  Not only does it save a lot of money, but this way I know exactly what she is eating, and it's made with love by her momma!  So I started out with 3 sweet potatoes.

I baked them for 40 minutes, until they were nice and tender.  Then I peeled them.

Once peeled, I chopped them into smallish pieces and put them in my Magic Bullet, put some water in with them and mixed the bad boys up!
I didn't have any ice cube trays to put them in, so I had to brainstorm........didn't really have any small Tupperware for small portion sizes....think Suzanne think!  And Viola!
My deviled egg container, had a good portion size, and I could stick in the freezer for individual sizes!

I'm so proud!
All frozen into individual portion sizes!
For what it's worth, I give Kaitlyn 2 pieces at each meal where she has food, so the 3 sweet potatoes make approximately 8 servings.  One serving is approximately 3/4 of a jar you buy at the store.

We went to Nana and Pop Pops for the weekend, where Kaitlyn had her first sweet potato.  How do you think she liked it??  (Don't mind the First Halloween Bib!  Since Kaity was only a month old for her first Halloween, she didn't really have a chance to wear it, so now she is :) )
All Clean and Ready to Eat!
What is this mom?
This is good!
I like it, gimme more!
She loved sweet potatoes!  Now I can't wait to give her more, and I can't wait for her to try other veggies, and fruits too!  What food should I give her next?
