Ready. Set. Write! Week 9 Check In

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
A little late in posting on Monday but here I am!
Just a reminder, here are the lovely ladies hosting this link up: AlisonJamieKatyErin, & Elodie.

    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):
This week was my mulligan week.
Goal 1: Finish my read through: Complete!
Goal 2: Add another new scene or flesh out existing scenes: Added a little bit here, more fleshing out than anything.
Goal 3: Make notes for final scenes and ending of book: Worked on this a bit. I know how I want the ending to go, it's just getting all the pieces to fit that is the struggle.

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
I'm going back to my trusty word count goal for this week.
2000 words.

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
Lots of pondering and putting the puzzle together.

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
In order to finish the ending, I had to figure out the backstory of my MC's family and how all of the people weave together. I'm basically figuring out the story before my actual story takes place, a prequel if you will. But I had to finalize that story first before even finishing my real story! LOL, did that make sense? Hopefully now I have it all straight in my head so I can finish writing the ending!

●Something I love about my WIP:
Even though I had to figure out the backstory, I love the story even more and where it is taking me.

Thanks for reading!

Ready. Set. Write! Week 8 Check In

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Thanks for stopping by and for the support over the past weeks!  Just a reminder, here are the lovely ladies hosting this link up: AlisonJamieKatyErin, & Elodie.

    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):
Goal 1: Finish my read through: So, so close! I literally have 10 pages left.
Goal 2: Add another new scene or flesh out existing scenes: Big fat F on this one.
Goal 3: Make notes for final scenes and ending of book: Another fail!

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
Can I get a do-over?? Going to repeat my goals for the week, I'm going to get them done darn-it!

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
Didn't write or revise this week.

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
The weather I think has really affected me this week. Every day this week it has rained and been gloomy all day. And then the weekend it also rained the whole time! You would think that would be a good excuse to stay inside and get my goals accomplished, but it didn't.

●Something I love about my WIP:
I guess the silver lining in all of this is I am itching to get back to the ending of my story and get it written!

I hope you had a great week, what's up with everyone?

Ready. Set. Write! Week 7

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Thanks for stopping by and for the support over the past weeks!  Just a reminder, here are the lovely ladies hosting this link up: AlisonJamieKatyErin, & Elodie.

    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):
Goal 1: Read through full story: I made it through 60% of the story.
Goal 2: Write 1 new scene: I'm saying yes to this, because I added a bunch more to existing scenes, to really flesh them out.

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
1. Finish the read through
2. Add another new scene or flesh out existing scenes
3. Make notes for final scenes and ending of book

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
This is a snippet from the beginning that I revised.
When Gia opened her eyes, she knew she was dreaming. Her gigantic boobs were clue number one. Clue number two was she had no idea where the hell she was.

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
It was hard not to red line all of my errors while I was reading through. My main goal was to catch big plot problems, inconsistencies, etc, but I kept getting into the small little details, which took me longer than I was anticipating.

●Something I love about my WIP:
Reading from the beginning was really beneficial to me. I saw a lot more errors in my writing, which I think I am getting better with now! It's great to see that I am learning to be a better writer!

Happy Monday!

Ready. Set. Write! Week 6 Check In

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Thanks for stopping by and for the support over the past weeks!  Just a reminder, here are the lovely ladies hosting this link up: AlisonJamieKatyErin, & Elodie.

    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):
I think I'm still in my slump, only got 1252 words instead of my 2000 goal. Definitely was not motivated this week. Plus work was still insanely busy, so just felt like chilling after work and not writing.

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
I think I am at a point in my story that I need to do a read-through. I'm nearing the end of my outline and I know there are lots of plot holes and things I am missing. With this being my first novel, I think I need to really see where I am at story wise and make a game plan.
So, Goal 1: Read through full story
Goal 2: Write 1 new scene

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
Frustrated. See above.

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
Motivation was a big one for me this week. I'll be on a plane this week Wednesday-Thursday, so that will be my big writing time for the week.

●Something I love about my WIP:
Even though I feel like I'm hitting a wall, I still love the story and the characters. Looking forward to really delving into it this week!

I hope you have a productive week!!!

Ready. Set. Write! Week 5

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Thanks for stopping by and for the support over the past weeks!  Just a reminder, here are the lovely ladies hosting this link up: AlisonJamieKatyErin, & Elodie.

Let's get right to it!
    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):
Womp Womp. My goal was 2500 words, sadly I did not make it happen this week. My total word count for the week was 1494. I had a super busy week at work, so I had no time during my lunch to write any. Heck I was lucky to even eat lunch at all this week! Most days I either ate in my car on the way to a meeting or was stuffing my face right before a meeting, lol. Not only was it a busy work week, but we also had my work Christmas party in July, so Saturday was a no write day.

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
I'm not seeing my day job slowing down this week, so I'm going with 2000 words for the week.

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
In the beginning of the week, I was feeling stumped on my plot. But this morning I think I figured out a great plot hole, so I am excited to write it all down. Now if only I can find the time!

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
Definitely finding time to write. Maybe...just maybe I will attempt to get up early before the kids wake up...I'm not holding my breath though.

●Something I love about my WIP:
I hit 30,000 words this week! Holla!

How was your week?

Ready. Set. Write! Week 4

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Thanks for stopping by and for the support over the past weeks!  Just a reminder, here are the lovely ladies hosting this link up: AlisonJamieKatyErin, & Elodie.

Let's get right to it!
    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):

I barely made my word count goal of 2500 words.

Here is the breakdown of my words per week.

Monday: 548 words

Tuesday:   off

Wednesday: 737 words

Thursday:  469 words

Friday: 638 words

Saturday: off

Sunday:  175 words

TOTAL: 2567 words

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
I'm sticking to the 2500 words for the week again.

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
Here's a little snippet, totally rough!!!

“Late night?” There was hardness in his voice.
“Looks that way.” Gia really didn’t feel like talking to JR right now. She kept her response short in hopes that he would saunter away and leave her and her raging headache alone.
“So was Romann as good in bed as you were hoping for?”
Well I guess her wish wouldn’t be granted today. She decided she was going to give him what he was asking for. “Even better than I could imagine. He’s so experienced, he could probably teach you a thing or two.”

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
I'm getting to the point in my story where I have written all of my scenes that I have mapped out so far. And I'm nowhere near being close to my goal of 80,000 words.  Not sure if I should get through all my scenes now and hit that bump in the revision stage or really look at the story as a whole and figure out where to add some major subplots or what! GAH!
●Something I love about my WIP:
I probably sound like a broken record, but just getting the words in! I can't believe how far this story has come since I started this summer writing intensive.  So awesome to see.

Have a great week!

Ready. Set. Write! Week 3

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Thanks for stopping by and for the support over the past weeks!  Just a reminder, here are the lovely ladies hosting this link up: Alison, Jamie, Katy, Erin, & Elodie.

Let's get right to it!
    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):

I upped my word count to 3000 words for the week.
People! I did it! I barely scraped by, but I hit my word count goal. Up until this week, I had set a goal of 2000 words, but I wanted to up it and was so happy I did! It was definitely hard, but having a good chunk of time in the car to write was perfect! Big smiley faces all around!! :)

Here is the breakdown of my words per week.

Monday: 468 words

Tuesday:  453 words

Wednesday: 614 words

Thursday: 423 words

Friday: off

Saturday: off

Sunday: 1089 words

TOTAL: 3045 words

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
I am still on my big goal high, but I want to hit attainable goals, so I'm going to meet in the middle and say 2500 words this week.

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
Words words and more words! They definitely aren't pretty, but I'm getting my story written down, finally!

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
We were out of town this week, and I am always so tired when I get home, I just want to snuggle with the hubs and veg out!
●Something I love about my WIP:
That the word count just keeps climbing and climbing, I love progress!
"Now that's progress!" (100 points to who knows what Walt Disney ride this is from!)

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a goal smashing week!

Ready. Set. Write! Week 2

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Another week down, another completed goal!  Let's get right to it.

    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):

Write 2000 words for the week.

Here is the breakdown of my words per week.

Monday: 439 words

Tuesday: 427 words

Wednesday: 952 words

Thursday: Off

Friday: 506 words

Saturday: Off

Sunday: Off

TOTAL: 2324 words

I knew I would have a busy weekend and not be able to get any writing done on Sat and Sun, what with my son's birthday and Father's day, so I made it a priority to try and get my goal done before then.  Glad I was able to stick to it.

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
I would like to push myself this week, so I'm going to aim for 3000 words this week! I am going out of town for the weekend, but I figure I can do some good writing in the car.

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
Here's a little bit from what I wrote this week. My MC is being impatient and decides she is going to try and save her father herself. Little does she know she is running right into a trap.
She brought the small pistol with her and had it in the passenger’s seat. She really hoped she didn’t need to use it. She hated the feeling of the cool metal against her skin, it always gave her a creepy feeling.  Like the gun had a conscious and it was whispering to her, “kill..kill..kill.”

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
I struggled with being motivated to write after the kids went to bed. But I knew I needed to just sit down and do it! Having this check in every week really keeps me accountable, and I am really glad for that! :)

●Something I love about my WIP:
My MC is really learning a lot about herself right now, I love exploring how she will handle certain situations and how it will build her character for the better.

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a goal smashing week!

Ready. Set. Write! Week 1

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-qL448GucjgszPhb7UNQGsqNyKj92zSGaPwgtq9swWEs4TaCtpIZv6yEzH92vwM8S2CCDJlY4bw9-RQuq4Lk-_A-Dk6yKiaqHtb_teblp8J4g_qhJjbnh3FyLgUrZjxM1tK0eEVBwGM/s1600/RSW11.png
Here we are, the first week is done!  If you don't know what Ready. Set. WRITE! is, check it out here

    ●How I did on last weeks goal(s):
Write 2000 words for the week.
Here is the breakdown of my words per week.
Monday: 616 words
Tuesday: 323 words
Wednesday: 987 words
Thursday: 117 words
Friday: Off
Saturday: 755 words
Sunday: 99 words
TOTAL: 2897 words
So glad I was able to keep to my goal! Very interesting that my most words were on Wednesday, which was my half hour I allotted myself during my lunch break. I am definitely going to aim to have more of these sessions this week.

     ●My goal(s) for this week:
I'm going to stick with the 2000 words again. I have a pretty busy week, with my son's birthday on Friday and Father's day on Sunday, so I'm not sure I will be able to get any more words than last week.

●A favorite line from my story OR a word or phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised:
I'm loving the angst between my MC and her ex. The physical attraction is there, but they just can't seem to get it together on an emotional level.

●The biggest challenge I faced this week (ie finding time to write, getting sick, having writers block, etc):
In regards to being more active in the writer community... I didn't do that great. It seems Twitter is the main social site for everyone, am I right? Still learning all of the ins and outs. Plus I think I was using the wrong hashtag...lol. Hope to start interacting more soon! I am @SuzLMeyer if you want to add me! (Pretty please?)

●Something I love about my WIP:
This is my first draft, but I am loving how the story is unfolding itself. I still don't know who my MC is going to end up with at the end....hmmm....

I hope everyone has a productive week!
