Five on Friday ~ Link Up

It's FRIDAY!!!! And a long weekend!  Today will be a smorgasbord of five things, because why not?

1. Today is national college colors day, are you wearing yours?
Go Gators!
2. We are getting our driveway pressure washed right now, I am so excited! We are also getting the exterior of the house painted as well as the interior. And let me tell you it has been so hard to pick the interior color. We don't have a lot of natural light in our living room, so the color needs to be light, but also go well with out fluorescent lighting. I wanted to go with a gray, it has been so difficult to pick a gray that doesn't lean towards blue, or purple or green! I have to give the colors to the painter today, I hope I picked a good one!
3. Here's a mock up of Kaitlyn's party invitation. I am making them myself, so they are free, and I have all of the materials on hand. I usually do them up in Photoshop, but I don't have my printer hooked up at home, and I have all of this scrapbook paper and what not, I figured might as well start using it.  I gotta get these out soon, the party is in 2 weeks from Sunday! Eeek!
4. We finally booked the hotel for my birthday beach trip. We are staying at the Marriott resort on Singer island on the east coast of Florida. Anyone been to Singer island? I need to research some other fun things for kids other than the beach.
Palm Beach Ocean View
Our room we booked!
Palm Beach Marriott Suite View
The Beach - My Happy Place
5. It's labor day weekend, not sure what we are going to do! Might have a spur of the moment trip to Disney....gotta love being so close!

Thanks for stopping by!

Target finds

Since I am turning the big three - oh soon, I decided to go shopping this week at Target for some beach/pool wear. (Shhh...don't tell the hubby yet!) We are planning a beach trip in two weeks and I am so excited!!!!  I only shopped the clearance racks, since I'm still on maternity leave and not making any dough.  Here is what I found!

Found here
I love that its full coverage and it's great for breastfeeding in!  I felt really supported and it covers my stomach perfectly.
Found here

This bright yellow just makes me happy...."she wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini".....well I won't be wearing anything teenie for a while, but it's still fun!
Found here
I love the ruffles on it, great to dress up or down in, and it hides my stomach fluff!
Navy tank found here
Again, another dress up or down item, and very easy to breast feed in (can you tell I'm all about ease of breastfeeding? :))

All of these items were on clearance at my Target, but for some reason, some of them are not on sale online.
I also got some bucket hats for the kiddos.
Found here
Isn't this hat so cute?  Unfortunately this was the only one I could find that was even close to being an infant size.  It's 12-18months.  I know he won't fit in it now, but I figure I can at least use it when we are out in the sun and then when he gets older, it will be good too!
Found here

Again, this one was also on clearance at my store, but doesn't show it online.

I'm really excited for my new bathing suit, and am loving the navy and yellow combination.  Had to get the tankini, because let's face it, my stomach still isn't that great to show off yet.  But I'm still bringing my other suits, and they are all bikinis.  Depending on my mood, I may or may not wear them.

How about you?  What are some of your favorite Target (or elsewhere) finds?  This weekend is Labor Day, any last minute beach trips planned to catch the last of the summer rays?

Zackary's Baptism

I meant to get this post up last week, but just got the pictures today, so it's a week late.

We had a very special event this past Saturday, Zackary was baptized!  We opted to have the same Pastor that married us and baptized Kaitlyn, to baptize Zackary, Pastor Jeff.  And we were so glad we did!  Even though little Zack cried through the whole thing, it was a wonderful service!  Part of that was my fault (ok maybe all of it) because we were late getting to the church because I forgot his shoes.....and then he started fussing right before the service started.  I thought, "hey maybe I can quickly give him a little milk before the baptism starts".  And it was literally like two seconds he was on the boob, and I had to take him off.  So I guess if you were starving and tempted food for two seconds and then it was taken away from you, you would be crying too!  Ah well, memories right?

Andrew's Family
Me and my girl, that's one big cake!

The big boy after the baptism was over, he was tired!
Also to note, his baptism outfit was made out of my wedding dress, as was Kaitlyn's!  My mom made both outfits and I love that we now have a keepsake to pass on to (hopefully) my children's children! And I love that it was made from my wedding dress!!

After the baptism, we had the family stay at the church for food and cake.  It was a nice small affair, perfect for our family!

Happy Baptism Day Zackary, you are now a child of God! :)

Zackary - 2 months

Oh my sweet, sweet baby boy.  I can't believe you are already 2 months old!  That means I only have one more month of maternity leave.  This makes me so sad, but this is not the time to think about that!  I still have a whole month to enjoy your precious coos all to myself, everyday!

2 Month Stats:
  • 11 lbs, 15 oz (49%)
  • 24" long (91%) - everyone definitely comments on how long you are!

You love to:
  • Smile at mommy (especially in the mornings)
  • Coo and make cute sounds
  • Go for walks
  • Swing and swing
  • Be bounced and rocked, constantly.  You need to be constantly on the go, I have a bad feeling about this that as soon as you learn to crawl and walk, you will be all over the place!
Firsts:
  • You had your first time in the pool!  I think you loved it.  You didn't cry and just looked around and enjoyed yourself.  I think you will definitely be a water baby like your sister!

You are such a good baby.  You nurse well and you sleep well.  Right now you are taking about a 2 hour nap in the morning and between 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon.  You go to bed around 8-9pm and sleep anywhere from 3-5am to feed, and then usually go right back to sleep.  Sometimes though, you want to play and coo with mommy for about an hour, and then you go back to sleep.  Kaitlyn still loves and adores you.  She is constantly kissing and hugging you and pushing your swing for you.  Not sure you like being poked and prodded, but that's how it is!  I am always saying to her, "don't touch your brother", and she always replies, "I'm not touching him".  And usually she has her fingers mere millimeters away from you, almost but not touching him.  I can see this same thing happening when your are both older...hee hee.

And time for some pics:

Look at the difference! Definitely fills out the onesie now!

5 things Friday - Link Up

For today's link up, I'm listing my top 5 apps/games that I use/play on my iPad mini.

This game is a lot of fun. My sister in law got me hooked on it. Basically it's a game where you breed dragons. You can build them habitats and there are tons of different dragons, with so many different breeding combinations, so sometimes it takes forever to breed the one dragon you are looking for. Plus, they are constantly adding new dragons, so I am trying to breed every type of dragon! It's mindless, but I just HAVE to check on how my dragons are doing ALL. THE. TIME.

Love these little guys!
2. Candy Crush
I'm pretty sure most people have heard of this game, you either love it or hate it. Before I played it. I was in the hate group. "Why are my Facebook peeps sending me these stupid requests for a stupid game I don't play?" But once I made my first 3 in a row of a blue gumdrop, I was hooked! And now I am up to level 155.....and I need a key....anyone?anyone?ineedakeyrightnowlikemylifedependedonitGIVEMEAKEY!!!!!  You get the gist.

3. Bloglovin
Like this needs a description, but its how I keep up with reading all of my lovely blogs!

4. Pinterest
Now that I am in party planning mode, I have been pinning like crazy, all things mermaid and under the sea.

When Kaitlyn is on my pad, which is quite frequently, her go to app is this one. You can do puzzles, play songs, matching games, lots of fun stuff for her.  Keeps her entertained for quite a while, like 15 minutes or so, which is lovely.

What are some of your favorite apps or games you are in to right now?

Birthday planning

Well it's less than a month till my baby girl turns 3!  How is this possible?  I've been asking her every now and then what kind of party she wants.  Now that she's old enough to have an opinion of her own, I thought it would be best to get her input.....well if you have ever asked a 3 year old that question, it changes daily!  So far she has wanted a princess party, pink party, Tinkerbell party, poopie party (yeah....I know)....and this week she wants an Ariel party!  She has started watching The Little Mermaid, and that is her new go to movie.  Which I am ok with, so I thought, hmmm...let's throw her an Under the Sea birthday party!  Which could work great because I wanted to throw it at a park, and the park I am thinking of has a splash pad, as well as a playground.  Hmmm, maybe this theme will work pretty well!

Here are some inspiration ideas that I have found perusing le-internet.

Aren't these oyster cookies so cute?

Today is a Kaitlyn, Zackary and Mommy day, so I might just take them to the splash pad to see what it's like and if I want to use it as the party location. If it's a go, next thing on my list is invitations!

Master Bath Closet - Before & After

As I keep going with my organization projects, here is one more closet that needed some serious TLC.

Yikes right?
Totally a mess eh?  I went back to Michael's and there storage baskets were still on sale, plus I had a coupon for 20% off everything, including sale items!  I love the Michael's app, it always has at least one good coupon on there, and they can be scanned right from your phone!
And here is the after!!

This makes me happy!
This is about 3 trash bags later.... I was definitely hoarding lots of body lotions and cute little shampoos and body washes.  If I hadn't used them in the past year, they went bye bye.  I grouped similar items together in each basket.  I have a "mouth" basket which has toothpaste, toothbrushes, lip gloss, floss, etc.  The other baskets I have are "hand/feet" (nail polish, hand sanitizer, hand lotion), "body" (perfume, lotion, deodorant), "face" (eye makeup, makeup cleaner) ,"hair" (shampoo, conditioner, mousse, hairspray) and a miscellaneous one (female hygiene and any other odds and ends that didn't have their own basket).  I also was nice enough to give Andrew two baskets....hee hee.  His are on top and are "body" and "hair".  He's lucky that he has two! :-)  On the floor is where I will keep the toilet paper.
Now I love opening the closet and easily grabbing what I need.  And with the baskets, I really hope I can keep it organized!

Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend! Saturday we took an impromptu trip to Disney. We went with my in laws and  brother in law. Epcot was the park we went to.

We got there around 930.  The in laws got there before us, so they got fast passes for Soarin and they waited in line. Once we got into the park, we headed to The Land.  We couldn't bring any strollers in, including Zack's, which was a bummer since he was sleeping. But I got to really test out my Ergo, so that was nice.

Me and my boy in the Ergo
Once we got to The Land, we had about an hour to kill before our fast passes were ready.  We met up with the family and found a place to sit that was out of the way. I fed Zackary while Andrew went and got us some snacks. Finally, it was time for Soarin!

Fast pass for Soarin

It's been a while since we were on Soarin.  Love that ride!

Can't you smell the oranges and the pine?
After Soarin, we met back up with the in laws and the kiddos. Zack slept the whole time, and Kaitlyn ate a whole thing of Pez, so she was bouncing of the walls. We then went on Living with the Land, a boat ride.  This was Kaitlyn's first time on it. She didn't like the dark parts, but she enjoyed seeing all of the plants and vegetables.

We had lunch at the Electric Umbrella and then headed to the Character Spot so Kaitlyn could get her Mickey and Minnie fix. Pluto was also there, so she got to meet him too!

Super Excited for Mickey and Minnie!

It was getting late in the day, so we decided to head out of the park.  Spaceship Earth had only a 10 minute wait, so we went on that too! Again, Kaitlyn didn't like some of the dark parts. Zackary also started to get fussy, so I fed him for a bit, gotta love the dark rides!! And air condition too!

After the ride, we headed home.  Kaitlyn passed out pretty quickly in the car, she had a long day!
And mommy and daddy got some ice cream!
Tuckered Out
Shhh...don't wake up the kids!
Sunday we went to church where Zack is going to be baptized next weekend. After church, we went to lunch with the pastor and his family at Smokey Bones.  We ended the weekend with dinner and swimming at grandmas pool. Great way to beat the heat!

How was your weekend?

5 on Friday - Link Up

This is my first time doing the 5 on Friday link up, so welcome everyone!

1. I've been blogging for 3 years, all be it sporadically.  I started this blog when I was pregnant with my first child, and now that I just had my second, I think it's a good thing to keep this blog up to date regularly as we continue on this journey called life!  Right now I'm on maternity leave, so I have plenty of time to blog, let's hope I can keep it up once I go back to work full time!

2. We recently got a new roof and got a different color on our shingles.  And ever since, I have been itching to change the exterior color, it just doesn't go with the shingle color!  And I've never really liked the exterior color, but have just dealt with it.  I also want to paint our living and kitchen too.  The color is this weird color that changes from purpley-beige to green.....It's quite an awful color, but we have such high vaulted ceilings in there, that I've never wanted to paint it myself.  I think it might be time to bite the bullet and paint the exterior and interior of our house!

Need new exterior color, I'm thinking blue.....

3. I am ready for the cooler weather, thought I would never say that, I love me some hot summer in Florida.  But having a 7 week old, who really doesn't like the heat, it makes me want it to be cooler so he can enjoy being outside.  We went to Disney last weekend and it was just so hot that I couldn't enjoy it as much as we usually do, because I was worried the little bubba was overheating.  Bring on the cooler temps!

Kaitlyn on the Carousel, "It goes up and down!"

4. My favorite sweet treat right now is strawberries and cool whip, drizzled with chocolate sauce!  I like to think it's a little healthier than ice cream, so it's a win for me!

Yum!

5. Who's ready for some FOOTBALL?!?!?!  I am!  We are Gators and UCF Knights in this household!  Can't wait for some tailgating this year.  Woot Woot!!
From our Maternity Photo Shoot!
Thanks for stopping by! :)  TGIF!

DIY Nursery Initials

My maternity list project is off to a great start!  First I got the linen closet organized, and now I completed Zackary's initials!  This was a super simple project, but looks great in the nursery.  This is what you need:

Initials
Scrapbook paper
Scissors
Pencil
Mod podge
Foam brush
Sandpaper-not pictured
Small wood whale

Super simple right?
The first step is to trace the letters, just make sure you trace them with the patterned side facing out.
Then cut it out
Then apply a thin coating of the mod podge with the foam brush to the letter, and put the paper on top of the letter. Let it dry.  If there are a few edges that overlap, lightly sand them with the sandpaper.
Once dry, apply another two coats of the mod podge on top, letting it dry in between coats.
And voila! Beautiful custom made initials!
And here are the final initials on the wall in Zackary's room.
I also added a little wooden whale to the Z letter, and painted it blue.  I think it adds a nice little nautical charm don't you think?
