DIY Nursery Initials

My maternity list project is off to a great start!  First I got the linen closet organized, and now I completed Zackary's initials!  This was a super simple project, but looks great in the nursery.  This is what you need:

Initials
Scrapbook paper
Scissors
Pencil
Mod podge
Foam brush
Sandpaper-not pictured
Small wood whale

Super simple right?
The first step is to trace the letters, just make sure you trace them with the patterned side facing out.
Then cut it out
Then apply a thin coating of the mod podge with the foam brush to the letter, and put the paper on top of the letter. Let it dry.  If there are a few edges that overlap, lightly sand them with the sandpaper.
Once dry, apply another two coats of the mod podge on top, letting it dry in between coats.
And voila! Beautiful custom made initials!
And here are the final initials on the wall in Zackary's room.
I also added a little wooden whale to the Z letter, and painted it blue.  I think it adds a nice little nautical charm don't you think?
